they undercooked his villain origin story... THERE, I SAID IT. i feel like there would be something more tragic about discovering that your heroes are not who you thought they were. like they could have done so much more early on to bring out skarra's more "evil" traits.

i say evil in quotes because lets be real, these two are at a difficult age where being reckless is the status quo. i dont think skarra is inherently evil, which is why i feel they undercooked his character arc

they could have amplified the fact that, compared to shakes, he does not have as much support system. like imagine doing everything you could, on your own, to make it to the big leagues with your idol only for it to be stripped away in front of your eyes.

and i feel like the part of him not getting into supa strikas shouldn't be his breaking point. his breaking point should have been in "the lies of others" when not only did he feel singled out by his dream team. but the fact his current team ACTUALLY having fun w shakes around!!! like i too would be a villain!!!!

like wouldn't it be cooler if he had a "you want me to be the bad guy? fine, now im the bad guy" moment. PLEASE EUGHHHH LET ME IN THAT WRITERS ROOM STAT!!!!

they missed a great opportunity to hammer the fact that like hey skarra belongs where he is right now. not getting into supa strikas was written in the stars for him. he was fated to be evil, and that itself is skarra's tragedy.

but then again... rookie season itself was a huge hit or miss to me!!!

The constant overhyping of anything and everything Connor Bedard does is ridiculous and it’s going to come back and bite the NHL in the ass.

If you tell a literal child that he’s the best thing since ice was invented and then ask him to lead you to victory, you’re either going to get:

A Harry-Potter-esque asshat with a raging savior complex that will be the thorn in the side of every team he’s on from now until retirement

OR

A person so emotionally crippled by Former Gifted Kid Syndrome that he ends up either fading out sadly or blowing his career to smithereens because it’s too much pressure.

Possibly both.

Also to be very real, other players have had better debuts. Auston Matthews, for example.

Hi! Kindly reminder that neither I nor any shador shipper I know sexualize Shakes or see them as a couple in the "rookie season". Shakes is an adult in the regular "Supa Strikas" but he is 16 in the "rookie season". Even ignoring the fact that they had only JUST met in this new series. We're just happy and excited to see the real beginning of their relationship. It's very sweet how creators showed it in this series. Some haters here just yell about that because they don't like the ship and found a new context to argue their point.

I will not limit myself from doing what I like (coming back on this platform or being happy about shador relationship), which at the same time does not hurt anyone in a real way just because it annoys someone. It's not my problem or a disorder.

Their hate doesn't bother me. I have worked through and understood this issue in therapy. I wanted to put here a message to other supa fans who somehow are still here. You are doing great! I remind you that people's level of perception of certain situations or things is not your problem. Keep doing what You love, be happy, be kind. You are really doing great!
